Does this sound like a scam?
I saw an advertisement online, I contacted the guy about an intership working in a web marketing place. Not sure of the company name. I thought I would need to bring a portfolio or something but he said to bring nothing just dress professional. I was supposed to drive to a town that’s an hour away from where I’m at and meet at the holiday inn. He gave me a number to call when I get there so he can find me. I sent in a letter and he didn’t ask me any questions, just said he had an opening tomorrow at 6:30.
Here’s what the ad said.

Find out the company name. Research the company. Annual Reports. What they do? How long have they been in business? If you think it’s a scam, then we cautious. Research first. I can’t believe you don’t even know the company’s name!
..So, he said you don’t need to bring anything, and he wants you to meet at a Holiday Inn? To me, it sounds like he could be a sexual predator or something…
It sounds legit but if it’s not held in a conference room, get the hell out of their…and bring something just in case, you never know what could happen! Maybe take a guy friend, as if he “dropped you off” just to make sure that nothing bad happens, and have him watch you into the conference room…It sounds pretty legit but better to be safe about these kinds of things.
This sounds like a scam that has been run lately to steal identies. Do not give anyone your personal information, like SSN.
STAY AWAY FROM IT!! IT IS A SCAM AND YOU COULD GET KIDNAPPED OR KILLED! RUN THE OTHER WAY. NO LEGAL COMPANY WILL MEET ANYONE IN A HOTEL AND NOT ASK FOR SOME TYPE OF A RESUME OR ASK YOU TO DRIVE AN HOUR AWAY TO MEET.
